Personal Development Series-} Success Leaves Clues

Greetings!

Years ago, I read an idea in a Tony Robbins book that I wanted to share today. As with most things in life, it took me a while to take that idea from something I know, to something I apply. To quote Tony, "Success leaves clues."

To put it simply, we can struggle to be successful with out any guidance...or we can choose to follow the path layed out in front of us by successful people. If we want to succeed at something, don't we need a mentor? A coach? Someone to show us the ropes? Someone to ask questions when we are having difficulty? I know I do! Don't you?

My point is, when you are trying to achieve success at something, don't reinvent the wheel. And more than that, don't look to people who have not achieved success themselves. Look to someone who can give you ideas on how to achieve the level of success you are looking to gain.

Would you agree that there are some patterns that successful people have in common? Drive, passion, amazing work ethic...etc. The key is to find some of these patterns and work to do them YOURSELF! What do these successful people do? What do they read? How do they stay motivated?

It is true that not all successful people DO the SAME THINGS. Each person has there own unique perspective on gaining success. But, wouldn't you agree that there are plenty of similarities? There are general guidelines you can be sure to find that you can try to follow yourself.

Therefore, you need to find mentors to follow. You may need more than one. Maybe you need a fitness mentor, a business mentor, a spirtual one... you need to find a mentor for the all of the areas that YOU want to achieve success!

That doesn't mean you have to "meet" and have a "friendship" with all of your mentors. Some of my best mentors are simply authors to amazing books I've read. Other mentors, you may know, you just never took the time to make closer relationship. Why not take the time to ASK them to mentor you? ..."You are very successful! It would be an honor to have you as one of my mentors! Would I be able to ask you for advice from time to time when you are not busy?"....That's not hard, right?

My encouragement for you this week is to pinpoint areas of your life that you want TO EXCEL! Then find a mentor or mentors to help get you there!... Don't stuggle reinventing the wheel!

I hope you gained benefit from this today!

ALL THE BEST!
Coach
